Study: Vitamin D may not lower cancer risk

A large-scale government study found that the overall risk of dying from cancer does not decrease in those with higher vitamin D levels, although people with higher vitamin D levels were 72% less likely to die of colorectal cancer. "While vitamin D may well have multiple benefits beyond bone, health professionals and the public should not, in a rush to judgment, assume that vitamin D is a magic bullet and consume high amounts," a dietary supplement specialist warned.
