Chef Gabriel Gabreski of the Avalon Beverly Hills Hotel's blue on blue restaurant offers a unique add-on to the establishment's four-course Chef's Table dinners -- groups of two to eight people can enjoy a chef-led learning excursion to local farmers markets for an extra $100 per person. Gabreski says he tries to engage the customers and offer suggestions on how to shop at a farmers market, including walking around and sampling before going back to shop.
