Riot police break up mass protest at U.S. Embassy in Syria

Syrian riot police formed a ring around the U.S. Embassy, dispersing a crowd of tens of thousands of protesters who descended on the site, angered over a U.S. air strike that Damascus says killed eight civilians. Though outrage is palpable in Syria and frustration is evident in Iraq, the incident is unlikely to have an impact on the beleaguered Status of Forces Agreement negotiations that would keep U.S. forces in Iraq.
