Federal agency seeks comments on plan to combat bat disease

The Fish and Wildlife Service is asking for public input on its proposal to control the spread of white-nose syndrome, a fatal disease that has killed at least 1 million U.S. bats and has spread across 11 states over four years. The public can comment on the federal plan, which includes a focus on disease surveillance and bat conservation, until Dec. 26.
