Companies add wellness to workers' compensation programs

Wellness plans are being integrated into workers' compensation programs by companies that want to reduce medical spending and improve productivity and return-to-work outcomes through chronic disease management, benefits experts say. Dr. Teresa Bartlett of Sedgwick Claims Management Services says that only a few large employers have taken this approach so far but that more companies are asking for wellness programs designed for workers' compensation and disability cases.
