Helping women develop skills for manufacturing jobs

Manufacturing offers employment opportunities for women if they have the right skills, says former Harley-Davidson executive Gail Lione. Speaking at the Women in Manufacturing summit this week, Lione said women are underrepresented in manufacturing, even as companies are looking for skilled workers. "We need to encourage women to go where the jobs are," Lione said. "We keep hearing about the skills gap. It'd be really great to fill it with women."
