Abundant chocolate makes this a dangerous time for pets

Theobromine in chocolate is dangerous to dogs, and according to Petplan, animals are 25% more likely to be sickened from eating chocolate around Halloween than at any other time of year. However, other threats abound this week, too, including other types of candy and gastrointestinal blockages and perforations associated with ingesting decorations, and costumes carry a special set of concerns for animals whose breathing or movement might be restricted.
