Calif.'s Bay Bridge project to be investigated

The new $6.4 billion San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge in California will undergo a "comprehensive investigation," led by Democratic state Sen. Mark DeSaulnier. Issues such as construction delays and cost overruns have surrounded the project. In addition, recent legislation authored by DeSaulnier "sets standards for assembling peer review panels used in public works projects." These and other activities will help officials determine ways in which Caltrans could be improved.
