Travel agents should quiz clients on their food-related interests to uncover opportunities for food-themed vacations, Kenneth Shapiro writes. Nearly 30% of respondents to a study sponsored by the World Food Travel Association based their destination choices on the availability of activities that focus on local cuisine. Identifying clients' interests in food-related activities makes it easier for agents to market this type of vacation, Shapiro writes.
