First wave of e-Rx with controlled substances yields better workflow, accuracy

The first group of physicians allowed to participate in e-prescribing of controlled substances highlighted some benefits in a survey published in the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association, but they noted system implementation and reliability issues. More than 50% of professionals involved reported better workflow, 69.5% noted improved prescription accuracy and 59.3% reported better drug monitoring.
