India's supermarkets fill shelves with private-label goods

Indian grocers including Shoppers Stop, Future Group, Tata's Croma and Aditya Birla Retail's More are boosting private-label lines to appeal to cost-conscious consumers. Market share for private-label goods is forecast to increase from 4.5% to more than 10% by 2020, with food continuing to be the biggest category, according to a Rabobank study.
