Lawmaker still blocks Helms for Space Command post

Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., has blocked the nomination of Lt. Gen. Susan Helms as vice commander of U.S. Space Command over Helms' decision to overturn the sexual assault conviction of a captain in 2012, making it likely the nomination could expire without Helms taking the new role. Helms is a former astronaut who served on the International Space Station and completed a record-breaking space walk.
