Md. middle-grades students, artist team up to create school mural

Eighth-graders at Lakelands Park Middle School in Gaithersburg, Md., are working with artist Arturo Ho to create a Spanish-themed mosaic mural inside the school. The students are creating individual mosaics for the mural that will be installed by Ho, the school's artist-in-residence during the project called milagros, which means "miracles" in Spanish. "Working alongside of an artist, as opposed to just me, their art teacher, is really magical for them," said teacher Lenore Hoover of her students.
