Mich. to move forward with common core implementation

The Michigan Department of Education can proceed with the implementation of the Common Core State Standards now that the state House has accepted legislation put forth by the Senate. The implementation has been delayed while lawmakers addressed concerns from opponents, who said the federal government will have too much control over education under the new standards.
