Progress noted in efforts to restart Neb. nuclear plant

The Omaha Public Power District has started heating up the water in the power-generating system of its Fort Calhoun nuclear plant in Nebraska, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission said. This represents a key milestone in efforts to restart the plant more than two years after it was shut down for maintenance and flooding issues. "The whole purpose of this is to check for leaks and see how the system will perform," said commission spokeswoman Lara Uselding.
