Samsung held a session at its developers conference to discuss its Tizen cross-platform mobile operating system that it touts as an alternative to Android. Tizen supports HTML5 and other Web technologies, Matt Hamblen writes. "We're a huge fan of Tizen and HTML is native in Tizen," said Abe Elias of Sencha, a Web application developer. The company also introduced a MultiScreen software development kit that goes beyond the DIAL standard of Chromecast in that "it allows both the discovery of other screens and provides a way for further customization of how that code executes on the TV itself," Christina Warren writes.
