Survey: Risk-management measures fall short at many private firms

A survey by Chubb Group found that many private companies have failed to adopt risk-management measures that adequately guard them against lawsuits and government penalties. "This is surprising in light of the fact that a large number of these firms have been sued in recent years by employees, customers, government agencies and other parties, and many are planning to participate in activities such as mergers that can increase their risk profile," Tracey Vispoli of Chubb Group said in a statement.
