TravelClick forecasts improved group, transient business for hotels in 2014

TravelClick's October 2013 North American Hospitality Review shows a 7.4% increase in committed hotel occupancy for the next 12 months amid a 3% increase in average daily rate based on rooms already booked. "In 2013, group occupancy and ADR growth has been a disappointment. While it is too late to see much of a turnaround in 2013, the outlook for 2014 is improving, with group sales over the past month outpacing the same period last year by almost 50%," said Tim Hart, an executive vice president at TravelClick. Occupancy in the group segment is up 7.6% against the previous year amid a 6.8% increase in transient bookings year over year.
