USA Today's Bill McGee recommends that passengers take simple steps to reduce their chances of suffering through long air delays this holiday season. Travelers should look for flights that leave early in the day, are direct and fly from hubs that are neither habitually congested nor prone to bad weather. Checking to see which airlines have the best on-time performance is a good idea, too.
