Delta committed to retaining seven hubs:

Delta Air Lines says it has no intention of closing any hubs following its merger with Northwest Airlines. "This hub is secure," Ed Bastian said upon arriving in Minneapolis to take over his duties as CEO at Northwest. "We made that commitment right from the outset." Delta says additional hubs in Detroit and Memphis also will remain, giving the company seven hub airports.
