Expert: ADA does not excuse sabotage, laziness

Employment law expert Lily Garcia tells a stressed-out manager that the Americans With Disabilities Act requires employers to make only "reasonable" accommodations for workers with disabilities. The employer must help overcome a worker's learning disability by, for example, making sure someone proofreads the employee's work, but a manager needs to address performance issues such as laziness and sabotage through constructive feedback and documentation.
