Prototype system could spot hundreds of ailments

Scientists at the University of Utah have developed a prototype device designed to detect hundreds of diseases and generate results within minutes. The technology, which resembles a card-swipe machine, spots diseases using a stick or card containing blood, urine or saliva specimens from patients.
