Students cast ballots in mock election

After a month of classroom discussions and lessons on the election process, and debates on the merits of referendum questions on Connecticut's ballot, students at one high school held a mock election and voted overwhelmingly for Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama. A group of about 50 students in charge of overseeing the preview to the Nov. 4 general election also learned about polling places and ballots, according to Windsor High School teachers who said the students took the project seriously.
