Total SA commits to new technology for sour gas output

Total SA announced it will move forward with newly developed down-hole sulfur removal technology in the production of sour gas reserves in the Middle East and the Caspian Sea. The technology allows a unit to continue running while a solvent is injected to clear a sulfur deposit from a well bore. Until now, units have had to be shut down or subjected to chemical regeneration processes to clear the sulfur.
