La. parish project to allow the pumping of floodwaters to river

The Army Corps of Engineers and Louisiana's Jefferson Parish have started building the Harahan Pump to the River system, a project designed for pumping floodwaters into a nearby river after heavy rains. The project, which is the first of its kind in the parish, will cost more than $100 million and is set to be completed by 2016.
