Big Data expands traditional analytics data set

The amount, speed and variety of data collected by Big Data systems makes the technology decidedly different from traditional analytics, Gery Menegaz writes. Big Data tools allow several exabytes of data, including location information, to be collected, often in real, or near real, time allowing marketers more accurate predictions. Big data also offers more variety including social media data like photos, status updates and GPS locations, this article notes.
