Burger King shifts focus to improved operations

Burger King's four-pillared turnaround plan appears to be working, as evidenced by the company's fifth consecutive quarter of sales growth. The strategy includes plans for the chain's menu, image, operations and marketing and communications. The company's effort to improve operations includes its new "operations performance index," which will take into account a location’s results from guest satisfaction surveys, negative phone or Web contacts, scoring by "Sales, Profit and Operations" coaches and speed of service at the drive-thru window.
