More than 5 million homes were left without power in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy. Companies were not spared the effects of the storm, either, and manufacturers including power component maker Hubbell in Connecticut were running on backup electrical systems in Sandy's wake. "You can't work unless you have power. I'm hoping we're back up by Thursday," said Hubbell CEO and MAPI executive committee member Timothy H. Powers.
