ACC: House panel's recommendations on freight transport should address rail competition

The 21st Century Freight Transportation panel of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee has completed its final report on ways to improve freight movement in the U.S. The American Chemistry Council applauded the recommendations but it has "serious concerns about the lack of rail competition and its impact on U.S. manufacturers," the group said. "As the members of the committee review the recommendations of the report, we urge them not to overlook the issue of rail competition as they examine an array of freight rail policies."
