Annual hospice report shows more people are getting services

Data on hospice care in the U.S. for 2013 show more people are receiving hospice services, a longer duration of care and more diversity in patient populations, according to an annual report from the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. The report found a higher number of inpatient hospice days, more patients with diagnoses other than cancer and an increase in the number of hospice programs.
