Chattanooga goes candy crazy

Chatanooga is adding hundreds of jobs in the confectionery industry, and more than $127 million has been invested in candy production, according to the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Every day, the area makes 330 million M&Ms, 72 tons of Twix and 1 million Moon Pies. Mars recently announced a $74 million expansion to its area plant, and McKee Foods has hired 1,100 workers since November 2012. Tennessee ranks fourth in candy and chocolate-related employment.
