Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Mayo Clinic unveil telestroke initiative

Dartmouth-Hitchcock has partnered with the Mayo Clinic to launch a telestroke program that will allow stroke specialists at the facilities to communicate with ER doctors at other health facilities at any time using videoconferencing tools. The program, which also enables specialists to remotely interpret brain scans and confirm diagnoses, was designed to cut costs and improve the care of stroke victims in rural regions.
