Exercise-induced bronchoconstriction severity decreases with weight loss in youths

In a Dutch study involving 20 overweight or obese 8- to 18-year-olds with asthma, researchers found that even a slight decline in body mass index after a dietary intervention was associated with a substantial reduction in the severity of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction as well as better quality of life scores. The findings were published in the journal Pediatric Pulmonology.
