Florida is home to 48 technical centers, which offer job training, ranging from welding to health care to hairstyling. "It's a perception issue," said Bill McCormick, director of the Fort Myers Institute of Technology. "Most people in this country that are in high school or middle school are told that in order to be successful, you need to go to college," he added.
