Foxx: $1.4B in Sandy-related transportation rebuilding underway

There are $1.4 billion worth of transportation recovery projects ongoing in New York, New Jersey and other states hit by Superstorm Sandy last year, according to Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx. Roads, tunnels, bridges and transit lines were all affected and need repairs. Foxx stressed his appreciation for crews that took on the work even though their own homes were damaged, and the fact the rebuilding would make the systems more resilient.
