House lawmakers push to include education tax bill in broader tax reform package

Reps. Diane Black, R-Tenn., and Danny Davis, D-Ill., introduced a bill that would streamline the tax credits for higher education and make the American Opportunity Tax Credit permanent. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., plans to include the bipartisan bill in the effort to overhaul the entire tax code, Black said. The AICPA offered a comprehensive solution to minimize the complexity of education tax incentives.
