Wash. state's $4B-plus, 30-year Yakima River Basin project advances

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee visited the site of the Manastash Creek improvement project Tuesday. It's a small part of the $4 billion-plus Yakima River Basin Integrated Water Resource Management Plan, which will be implemented over the next three decades. The goal is to increase the water storage capacity of the Yakima Basin, aside from "enhancing reservoirs and adding a new one" -- all key to improving irrigation for farmers. Meanwhile, Inslee is also asking the state legislators to fund road improvements.
