Would the U.S. be better off with mandatory retirement savings?

With abundant evidence that many Americans haven't saved enough for retirement, some financial experts are calling for mandatory retirement contributions. California has taken steps toward such a system. However, Dallas Salisbury, president and CEO of the Employee Benefit Research Institute, says a mandate for retirement savings, like the one that Australia has, wouldn't help low-wage earners.
