W.Va. creates academy for teachers with National Board Certification option

West Virginia has launched the Beginning Teacher Academy -- part of a mandatory statewide push to improve the professional development for classroom teachers with up to three years' experience. Teachers who participate in the academy for all three years of the program may apply for National Board Certification. The academy will offer professional support and training in classroom management, differentiated instruction and other skills.
