P&G attributes boost to marketing

Procter & Gamble's better-than-anticipated first quarter of fiscal 2007 was in part because of marketing improvements, the company said. The "real traction from our marketing ROI and media-mix modeling" helped improve the company's margins through the reallocation of its marketing spending, CEO A.G. Lafley said.
