Report: Disney nears deal with cablers on fees

The Los Angeles Times reports that Walt Disney Co. is set to close multiyear deals with Comcast and Time Warner Cable for programming including the ESPN networks, Disney Channel and more. The sweeping deals also will include retransmission of ABC owned-and-operated stations as well as arrangements for offering ABC programs on an on-demand basis.
