Florida canal water dumped into sea amid storm threat

Water managers in Miami have been forced to drop billions of gallons of water from Miami-Dade and Broward County canals into the sea due to the threat of a storm surge from Tropical Storm Noel. The water was being stored to prepare for the dry season, but officials say it posed the threat of plugging drainage canals in the event of a storm.
