Official: Maryland needs more than $400M for transportation needs

Maryland's transportation needs well exceed the $400 million budget allotment proposed by Gov. Martin O'Malley, according to Maryland Transportation Secretary John Porcari. Porcari was testifying at a hearing on the proposed Transportation Investment Act, which would boost the state's Transportation Trust Fund through increased fuel and vehicle excise tax rates.
