Abilene hospital gets staff involved in wellness efforts

The staff wellness program at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas, achieved an 85% participation rate its first year by offering weight management programs, volleyball, health education and a "Chug a Jug" program that encouraged people to drink more water. Hospital units form teams to work on improving health, and the facility is building a track around the building for staff who prefer to get outdoor exercise.
