On the debt panel, 6 lawmakers try to broker a deal

Six members of the 12-member Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction -- three Democrats, three Republicans -- reportedly have joined to come up with a bipartisan plan to cut $1.2 trillion to $1.5 trillion in spending by the Thanksgiving deadline. The full committee's efforts have largely stalled. Most of the dissent has been over revenue increases.
