Firms test business applications for Microsoft Kinect

About 200 companies around the world are engaged in a project sponsored by Microsoft to test commercial applications for its Kinect gaming device. The motion-sensing device has caught on among tech enthusiasts who found a variety of applications for the controller. Now Microsoft is hoping the business community will do the same by helping identify ways that the hands-free controller can be used in the workplace. Microsoft said it plans to officially introduce Kinect to businesses next year.
