Flaxseed-oil supplements are found to ease dry eyes

A small study reports that people taking 9 grams of flaxseed-oil supplements daily experienced improved symptoms of dry eyes. Researchers found an increase in oily secretions from meibomian glands, whose failure to produce oil causes dry eyes. The study is preliminary, included 12 people and was presented at the American Academy of Ophthalmology's annual meeting.
