Cloud computing, which can provide startups with a low-cost solution to technology needs, is making operating a startup cheaper, writes Joe McKendrick. "[I]t now costs virtually pennies to secure and get the infrastructure needed up and running to get a new venture off the ground," McKendrick writes. The technology can allow companies to reduce IT costs by nearly a third, according to O'Reilly Media, and research shows that many startups use cloud computing.
