Report: Operating costs of wind farms has declined 38% since 2008

Data from Bloomberg New Energy Finance's first O&M Price Index showed that the average cost of operating and maintaining onshore wind farms fell from roughly $39,670 in 2008 to about $24,650 per megawatt this year. Findings also revealed that turbine makers such as Vestas Wind Systems are lowering their prices. Project developers view the declining costs as a positive indication, while manufacturers see service agreements as an additional source of revenue.
