Carb counting, general diet advice show similar outcomes in type 1 diabetes

Type 1 diabetes patients who engaged in carbohydrate counting did not show significant improvements in overall A1C concentrations compared with the control group, an analysis indicated. The results in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology suggest that alternative approaches to determining prandial insulin dosing should be examined, researchers said.
